"They both listened silently to the water, which to them was not just water, but the voice of life, the voice of Being, the voice of perpetual Becoming"
Poet Hermann Hesse
AquaSonic is a deep dive into a state of being; a groundbreaking underwater performance that combines music, performing arts, technology and innovation. The underwater concert takes the audience on a unique and fascinating journey into uncharted territory. Equipped with specially designed underwater instruments, five musicians and singers immerse themselves in each their man-sized aquariums. Transformed inside these darkly glittering, aquatic chambers, they produce compositions that are both eerily melodic and powerfully resonant. The result is a concert experience of another world - and an exciting glance into the future possibilities of sound and trans-disciplinary concert production.
AquaSonic explores the state of being; the feeling of being completely at one with the surroundings and with oneself. From within these isolated, womb-like chambers AquaSonic expresses a deep longing for wholeness and connectedness that resonates with audiences around the world.
After more than a decade of development and refinement AquaSonic had its world premiere in the Netherlands in 2016. It is now a viral phenomenon and the concert is requested all over the world.
Several off-spring projects have derived from the work including a.o. an upcoming album release, an underwater reverb project called Sound's hidden journey and the audiovisual installation Breaking the Surface.
